Hi there, Francesca! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney again from across the pond. Your May vacation at
Walt Disney World Resort is coming up soon, and I'm so happy to help with your question.
Merida is a favorite in our household, too!
Brave was the first movie my youngest saw in the theater, and my older daughter was a very sassy Merida one Halloween! For several years, everyone's favorite Scottish princess greeted Guests in Fairytale Garden at
Magic Kingdom Park, but as of last summer, this area has been magically transformed into the courtyard of Casa Madrigal! Mirabel from Disney's
Encanto is meeting new friends in a fun and interactive experience throughout the day.
Currently, Merida does not have a set meet-and-greet time as she is of course quite busy practicing her archery and wrangling her naughty triplet brothers! However, Guests have recently encountered the red-headed lass in Magic Kingdom at
Cinderella's Royal Table and as part of the
Disney Friends Adventure Cavalcade. Merida also appears occasionally to greet Guests at the gazebo in Liberty Square, but she was not listed on the schedule when our family visited last week.
I recommend downloading the
My Disney Experience app to see the most up-to-date schedule for Character greetings on your park days. From the home screen, select "Today's Plans", then "Tip Board" for a complete schedule. The Tip Board will default to Magic Kingdom, but you can easily change this to another park. The helpful folks at
Guest Relations are also a great resource for any possible Merida sightings. You can stop into City Hall at Magic Kingdom, or visit any of the Cast Members throughout the parks--they are easy to find under blue umbrellas!
Francesca, in the words of Merida, our destiny is within us. You only have to be brave enough to see it! I hope YOUR destiny involves meeting your favorite princess during your vacation! Thank you again for making a return trip to planDisney, and please don't hesitate to reach out again if we can help with any additional questions.
See Ya Real Soon!
