Hoping to see illuminations in April but show is so late for our children. please can you recommend a good spot both in and out of park for a quick getaway? Will arrive by car from lake buena vista. Anything good for kids to do at EP in evening? Thanks

    Hi Nicola!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Illuminations is a fabulous nighttime spectacular and a favorite of many guests.  Unfortunately, however, there's really no good spot outside of the park to see Illuminations.  While you can see some of the high flying fireworks outside of the park, you really need to be around the World Showcase lagoon to really see the show.

If you want a quick get away to the Epcot parking lot then you will want to watch the show along the water close to the path that leads back to Future World and Spaceship Earth, the large sphere near the front of the park.  However, if you dine at the Beach Club for dinner then you could park at the Beach Club, have dinner, and then walk to the "back door' of Epcot directly onto World Showcase to watch Illuminations; after the show, you could walk the 5 minute walk back to the Beach Club.   Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is a wonderful place to have dinner if you want to go this route.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
