California Grill with Magic Kingdom View at Night

    Hi! We are hoping to go to California grill on 23rd October - will we be allowed to watch the fireworks on the terrace during our meal? Should we plan to eat fully before hand (90min pre fireworks?) Thanks!

    Welcome to planDisney! I just had an amazing meal with my family at California Grill last week. I got the AAA Ahi Tuna which was one of the best entrees I have ever had. Even my husband who does not like seafood said "Wow!" when he tasted it. It had this amazing seasoning that was full of flavor. I highly recommend it. I'm still dreaming about it. 

    We ended up dining right next to the viewing terrace and saw that the door to it was locked with a sign stating it was closed. After speaking to a Cast Member, we found out that the terrace opened up at 9:30 pm that night for the 10 pm fireworks show at Magic Kingdom Park. Until then we could dine and watch the gorgeous view of Walt Disney World Resort from our seats. The Cast Member also explained that if we finished early and left we could always return to view the fireworks show on the terrace that same evening by showing our receipt to the check-in desk on the 2nd floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. They will allow guests with that receipt to return for the evening viewing of the fireworks show. If the fireworks show starts while you are dining you can watch from your seat or take a break on the terrace once it opens. When you arrive, ask the Cast Members when the terrace will open and know that your dining reservation that evening will get you access no matter if you are there or if you come back later. You will not miss out no matter what time your reservation is.
