Get ready for a splash-tastic time at the Walt Disney World Resort, Emma! Late summer and fall are my favorite times to visit!
Disney World has two water parks for Guests to enjoy! They are
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Mickey has announced that both water parks will be open for Guests from May 26 through September 8, 2026.
While not confirmed, I can speculate based on past practice that Blizzard Beach will most likely close for annual refurbishment in September, with Typhoon Lagoon remaining open for Guests to enjoy into the fall and early winter months, including your visit in September!
Emma, I recommend keeping a close eye on the
Walt Disney World Resort website, specifically the pages for both water parks. When you arrive at the page for each water park (linked above), you’ll notice a calendar icon stating “Hours.” Click on that icon and then select the month/date you’ll be visiting. Please note that the calendar is updated seasonally, so be sure to check back occasionally as you prepare for your visit in September!
Speaking of September, this is a particularly fun month to visit Disney World, especially Magic Kingdom Park! On select nights in September (August and October too), Mickey and Minnie host their seasonal
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Here you will find characters in their Halloween costumes, special Halloween fireworks, and Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween parade! Guests are also invited to trick-or-treat through the park! While the party officially kicks off at 7:00 PM, Guests with tickets can enter the park as early as 4:00 PM! That is a great benefit! Tickets for this frightfully fantastic event are not on sale yet, but will be this spring!
