Hoping for free dining in the Fall and then want to upgrade to annual pass. Is there a best time to do this during the week so as not to mess up free dining credits? Any benefit to doing it early in the week as opposed to the last day of vacation? Thx!

    Hi Christopher:

Thanks for sending the Disney Parks Moms Panel your question.  My daughter and I recently upgraded our Magic Your Way Tickets for Annual Passes, the process was very fast and easy.  We decided to upgrade on our first day at Walt Disney World, just to get it over with. I liked knowing that I didn't have to take the time later on during our vacation, I like to get all of the "waiting" over with first so I can enjoy my vacation without thinking - oh, I still need to go and upgrade my tickets.  The benefit to upgrading early on in your vacation is that you will be entitled to the discounts available for Annual Passholders, including discounts on merchandise and dining.  When you decide to upgrade won't affect your dining plan at all, so I would recommend upgrading as early as possible, or when you notice the queue for Guest Relations is short, if you can stop at that point.

Also, because you are upgrading current tickets, your activation date will be the date you first use your Magic Your Way Tickets.  If you upgrade on the last day, you will still have an activation date for the first time you use your tickets, not the day you upgrade.  Please remember that you will need at least one day left on your current Magic Your Way Tickets to upgrade, so don't wait until you have used all of your entitlements.

I hope that helps Christopher.  Please let me know if you have any other questions as your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation approaches.  I would be happy to help.
