We are hoping to be at Disneyland in August and want to celebrate a 7 year old's birthday, which restaurants are best for that?

Hi there, Heather, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I sincerely hope everything works out for you to celebrate your child’s birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth this summer!

Start your magical day with a stop by Guest Relations to pick up a complimentary birthday button. This way, your child will receive birthday wishes from Cast Members and Characters all day long!

As the mom of three Mouseketeers (ages 4, 6, and 8) I’d love to help you brainstorm some fun and yummy dining locations. If your child is obsessed with Star Wars, I recommend making a reservation for Oga’s Cantina at the Disneyland Resort. This is one of my son’s favorite spots to hang out, sip on a soda or Blue Bantha (chilled Blue Milk served with a Vanilla-Butter Sugar Cookie) and listen to the tunes of DJ R-3X. This local watering hole doesn’t serve a full menu, so I recommend planning a break there during your travels to Batuu.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with a unique atmosphere in Disneyland Park, look no further than Blue Bayou Restaurant, which is located adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction! I also enjoy celebrating special occasions at Lamplight Lounge and Wine Country Trattoria, both located in Disney California Adventure Park. Timing your meal at Lamplight Lounge just before a showing of World of Color sounds like a dream for any birthday boy or girl! The World of Color Dessert Party is another fun way to celebrate with the whole family.

If you’d prefer to eat outside of the Disneyland Resort theme parks, I’d recommend checking out Naples Ristorante e Bar in Downtown Disney District. This is my family’s favorite place to share a family-size pizza, pasta, and delicious salads, too.

Another fun option is to plan a Character Dining meal at Goofy’s Kitchen, located at the Disneyland Hotel. The atmosphere is festive, and the food is delicious!

Last but not least, you may want to consider adding a Celebration Cake to your reservation. A selection of table-service restaurants throughout the Disneyland Resort offer a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake, which is a super-cute (and yummy!) Mickey-shaped cake with custom engraving.

Keep in mind that reservations are highly recommended and can be booked online through the Check Availability tool up to 60 days prior to your visit.

I hope this information helps you plan a birthday to remember, Heather! Hope to see ya' real soon!
