We are hoping to build our magical gender reveal. We thought it would be fun to have a Disney character pull out some confetti from an envelope (that we would clean up!) and toss it in the air while a photographer captures the moment! Is that a thing??

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Brandon. We’re so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. I love celebrating special occasions at the Disneyland Resort, but a gender reveal will be extra magical.

Congratulations on your little bundle of joy! Some of my most special memories have been made at the Disneyland Resort and I’m so excited for you to create your very own core memory soon. Although I love the confetti idea, it might be a good idea to have a clean-up-free option ready. Instead of confetti, how about a colored ribbon that could be pulled out of the envelope and waived around? You could also hand a Cast Member an envelope with the baby’s gender inside and have them write "It's a..." onto an “I’m Celebrating:” button. They can put the button in the envelope and it can be pulled out for the big reveal. Some of my panelist pals Amy C., Danielle C. and Tiffanie S. also have some fantastic ideas for magical gender reveals.

No matter what you decide to do, it’s going to be a special moment that you can look back on with your little one. I recommend purchasing Disney PhotoPass+ One Day to receive all of your photos from the day. Or, if you’re planning on enjoying some attractions for the day, you might consider adding Disney Genie+ Service to your day. With Genie+ you’ll receive all of your digital downloads from the day in addition to breezing through the attraction lines with Lightning Lane access.

I hope this has been helpful, Brandon. Please come back to see us with any other questions you might have before you visit. Until then, I wish you the best of luck and wish you a most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
