We are hoping to take our boys to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. They will be 5 and 3. Do kids generally stay until the end of the party? I'm not sure they can handle midnight. Will we miss anything good if we have to leave early?

    Hi Andrea,

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of my favorite events at Walt Disney World! I think your two boys would absolutely love it but I completely understand your concern about the late hours. My kids were early risers and therefore had early bedtimes until we hit the teen years. We would take the day of the party as a resort day. We would sleep in, have a late breakfast, some pool time, a big lunch, a (hopefully) big nap and then head to the Magic Kingdom. Having a more relaxing day helped them last a little longer at night.

If the schedule remains the same, the Boo-to-You Parade will be at 8:15PM and 10:30PM with the special fireworks Happy HalloWishes at 9:30PM. Our plan of attack has been to find characters and trick-or-treat earlier in the evening. We would watch the fireworks and the later parade then head back to our resort home for the evening.  Of course, if either kid was wiped out, those plans would change.

I think having a stroller would be essential. If one of the boys needed to conk out, the rest of you could still enjoy some of the party.

I do think with a little planning the kids might last longer than you think, but depending on how early you have to leave, you might miss something you wanted to see or do. I would just call that a reason to book a trip for next year!

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Wishing you days filled with Pixie Dust!
