We're hoping to take advantage of the magic hours at Epcot on the 4th of July from 9 to 11pm and the extra magic hours at Animal Kingdom from 11 to 1am. How should we plan on moving between the two and how much time will we need? We will have a car.

Hi Andrea! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for bringing us your question!

Andrea, don’t you love all the wonderful benefits that guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels can enjoy? Complimentary round-trip transportation from Orlando International Airport and your Disney Hotel with Disney’s Magical Express, early access to FastPass+, complimentary MagicBands, and of course, Extra Magic Hours; the best way to enjoy even more of the magic at the Theme Parks!

I think you’re already planning a great evening, aiming to enjoy those awesome EMH to experience more of Epcot, and the brand-new out of this world land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora- The World of Avatar. Although you can definitely travel from Epcot to Disney’s Animal Kingdom via the complimentary resort transportation, I would recommend taking your car. As a FL local, I prefer navigating the resort on my own, and feel it’s a quicker option. The My Disney Experience Mobile App has a handy GPS tool that will let you know how long it will take you to travel from point A to B using different options. Via Disney’s Resort Bus transportation, it’s showing a 53-minute travel time. If you drive yourself, it will probably take you 20 minutes of drive time. So, if you feel confident to navigate it, I say go for it! You’ll arrive in no time and will be able to enjoy more of those Extra Magic Hours.
Andrea, I hope this information was helpful. Be sure to try out some of the new and delicious offerings at Satu’li Canteen, the new quick service restaurant in Pandora. It’s quickly becoming a favorite. I love the build your own bowls that are customizable, healthy, and oh so yummy!

    Have a magical time! ~Emille
