We are hoping to take advantage of Halloween and xmas this year. when does the Halloween decorations come down and xmas go up?

Greetings, Melanie! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you have an extended vacation planned at the Disneyland Resort and that is so amazing!

Halloween Time starts on September 7, 2018, and ends October 31, 2018. While the official start of the Holidays has yet to be announced, I do know that the parks will begin to transition to the Holidays immediately after Halloween. In the past, it has taken around 7-10 days for the transformation to be complete so it’s possible that you might get a taste of both holidays during your trip. I once visited during the first few days of November and was delighted to see so many glittering holiday decorations already up around the parks. You will want to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming days and weeks to see if they announce the official start date of the Holidays.

If you haven’t already, you might want to look into purchasing tickets for Mickey’s Halloween Party. This is THE event to attend during Halloween Time with exclusive entertainment, unique character encounters, and trick-or-treating around Disneyland Park. Dates do sell out so I recommend purchasing your tickets for this special event as soon as possible.

If you have any other questions as you plan your adventure, please stop by again!
