Hi Danielle,
Welcome to planDisney! Planning a trip for your soon to be 2-year old sounds delightful!
If the health measures are still in place and the requirements with respect to
face coverings remain the same, your 2-year old will be expected to wear her mask correctly. On our last trip we saw Cast Members firmly reminding a few guests of the face covering expectations. And, we heard regular announcements that guests who did not comply with the guidelines
could be asked to leave the parks or denied entry. The good news is that I saw lots of little ones who looked to be 2-years old wearing their masks well for extended periods of time. I was impressed!
Prior to your arrival, practice with her. Each day extend the amount of time she has to wear a mask so that she gets accustomed to wearing it before you go. Schedule some breaks in the park. Make use of the relaxation stations and make
advanced dining reservations. To locate the relaxation stations, check out the guide maps at each theme park -
Magic Kingdom,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Disney's Animal Kingdom. Also plan for break time at the resort hotel and enjoy the pool while there.
I would worry if your hope was to stay in the park from park opening to closing with no breaks. So, practice prior to your visit and plan for multiple breaks. If you truly feel like she will not keep the mask on and the face covering requirements are still in place, it might be best to wait until she is a little older. Face coverings are part of more comprehensive guidelines to keep all guests well during and after their visits. My biggest concern if your little one cannot keep on her mask is her health!
Danielle, the great news is that you have time. She may surprise you! Little ones can be quite astute, especially when spending a day with Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
