Hope you are doing great - it's been a long time since our VSU days! Because you are an administrator, I wanted to get a feel for how to handle taking my 1st grader out of school for a week to go to Disney. Do I tell them we are going to DW? Thx

    Hi Jolie!!!

Wow...it has been a long time!!!  Hope you and Jason are doing great!!!  Thanks for finding me here on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

This is a very tricky question, but I think I have some experience from former students of mine that have done this very same thing. First of all, I would be honest and let your child's teacher and administration know that you are going to Walt Disney World.  They should count it as unexcused absences, but since you let them know about it in advance they should be willing to let your child work on any missed work either before you go or once you get back.  I know that my school is willing to do this.

Other than that, have a magical time!!!  Please let me know if you have any additional questions that I can help answer!!!  I am excited to help you start planning your Walt Disney World Vacation!!
