Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rochelle! It’s nice to see you here again.
I’ve visited the Walt Disney World Resort with friends and family using Electronic Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) and canes, and I visited multiple times while recovering from foot surgery. I am just amazed by all the ways Guests with mobility concerns are accommodated in the theme parks. I totally geeked out when the seashell vehicles stopped for us on
Under The Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid so we could have a little extra time to load!
I see that my pal
Wyatt recently shared some tips for managing the attractions with narrow queues, and I appreciate that you’re working to find the best solution for your needs. I checked with a Cast Member, who told me that, according to
current policy, the only items that may be carried on an ECV are those that fit in the basket attached to the vehicle. This is for safety reasons. Due to this policy, you would not be permitted to attach a walker to your ECV.
The Cast Member recommended that, for queues that don’t accommodate your ECV, your best plan is to stop and talk to the Cast Member at the queue’s entrance. They can assist in understanding your options for navigating the queue safely and comfortably.
Rochelle, for more information about mobility access, I recommend checking out Walt Disney World Resort's
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. You may reach a Cast Member on that team by calling (407) 560-2547, and they would be happy to help you make a plan for your visit.
Thanks for stopping by to see us, and please come back if you have any further questions.
Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day,
Robyn
