Moms and Honorary Moms, My grown children are taking their first ever cruise over Halloween. What type of clothes will they need? Do you recommend they come in a day early, visit Disney Springs, stay overnight at Pop Century and start the cruise rested?

Welcome aboard, Rochelle! Kids of all ages (including us grown ups!) love sailing with Disney because no matter your age, there is something for everyone onboard. My husband and I even took our first Disney cruise without the kids recently, and Disney as adults is even more fun in different ways than with the kids!

Tell your family to pack for summer-like weather in the Bahamas and Caribbean this October, as the temperatures average mid 70's to high 80's that time of year. We love to escape the chilly fall and winters in Ohio to head south for a warm and wonderful cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew.

My family and I always book our flights at least a day early and stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts before sailing. We don't want to have to worry about missing the ship if there is a flight delay. Plus, we get free transportation from the Orlando International Airport to the resorts on Disney's Magical Express. Even if your family doesn't buy park tickets, they can, as you mentioned, enjoy a relaxing and exciting day exploring Disney Springs before settling in for the night at their resort. The following morning, if they book the optional Disney Cruise Line Ground Transfers, their luggage will be picked up right from their resort room and they can enjoy the rest of the morning exploring the resort and having a leisurely breakfast before being picked up by the cruise motorcoach to head to Port Canaveral. Ground Transfers for the cruises are $35 per person each way, and can also be pre-arranged from the port back to the airport too. It's definitely the way to go because letting Disney take care of the details makes our transitions from land to sea and back again so stress-free!

I hope your children have fun as they plan this magical adventure, Rochelle!
