Moms & Honorary Moms, My autistic son is thinking of taking his first solo trip to WDW late January. I didn't see Fantasmic on the schedule between Jan 22 and 28; or the next week. He'd be at Pop and on the dining plan. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Rochelle!

Congrats on your son's (possible) first solo trip!  How exciting!  The reason for Fantasmic! not showing up on the calendar is because it will be under refurbishment until mid February.  I'm really sorry!  I don't know if this will impact his vacation dates, but I do think that he's chosen a great time of year to come!  Low crowds, (usually) drier weather.

For any child's first trip, I'd make sure that they are familiar with the ins and outs of the Disney Dining Plan, as well getting around with Disney Transportation, I'd also have them look at the park maps so that they had a plan and knew where they were going.  If you want to help him sketch out some possible park days (and book those dining reservations), that would probably help him feel more prepared.

If he likes Fantasmic!, make sure that he plans to see IllumiNations, and Wishes--both spectacular shows!

    Have a magical vacation!
