Moms & Honorary Moms, Do the accessible cabins in Fort Wilderness have ramps so I can charge an ECV inside or is there an outlet outside? Is the military rate available? Not sure when next visit will be but grown autistic daughter wants to stay in cabi

Hello again Rochelle!  It's always a pleasure to hear from you here at the Moms Panel.  I will be arriving at Fort Wilderness next month, and I could NOT be more excited for my holiday in the "Florida Wilderness."

There are 13 accessible cabins at Fort Wilderness and these units are equipped with ramps.  The hallway in these accessible cabins are wider than the standard units and provide storage room for wheelchairs or ECVs.  There are plenty of power outlets scattered throughout the cabin too, so charging shouldn't be an issue!

If you don't need the ramp to enter the cabin, you will be able to charge your ECV outside at a standard cabin, since there are outlets outside.  That said, if you have mobility issues, I encourage you to request an accessible cabin due to the fact that the standard access cabins have a few steps at the entry which could be a bit pesky.

Hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to write back if you think of anything else before your trip!
