Hi! My home resort is Beach Club. I’d like to book a stay at the Grand Floridian for October, in the newer rooms with 2 Queen size beds. My booking window for a non home resort is 3/14/22. Since the newer rooms are just now selling, will this be an option?

    Hey There, Angelina!

Welcome back to planDisney and Welcome Home!  Don't the new Resort Studios at the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa look absolutely beautiful?  Like you, I'm excited to book a reservation for this all-new room type as soon as possible –– I can't wait to see them in person!

While we still don't have a lot of specific information about booking the new DVC rooms at the Grand Floridian, I'm happy to share the details I know so far.  The Resort expansion includes the creation of approximately 200 Resort Studios (that's the room type with two queen-sized beds and a daybed), as well as enhancements to the Resort's existing Studios and Villas.  Add-on opportunities for these new units are scheduled to go on sale for Disney Vacation Club Members on March 3, 2022, and while a price point hasn't been announced yet, Points Charts for these new rooms are available online.

There also hasn't been an announcement about the official opening date for these rooms or when they will be available to book, but Disney Vacation Club has said that booking is projected to open this spring for Summer 2022 dates –– that means it should be available to book for your October vacation. However, I can't say for certain whether these rooms will be available to all Members at their 7-month booking or if there will be some type of Home Resort priority period. I can tell you that when the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa originally opened in 2013, the booking window for non-Home Resort Members was shortened to a 4-month window for stays that occurred during the first few months the Resort was open.  The good news, though, is that this information should be released around the time these units go on sale.  Be sure to keep your eye on the Disney Vacation Club website over the next few weeks for the latest booking news.

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Angelina.  I'm wishing you lots of pixie dust and hoping you can book the DVC reservation of your dreams for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

    Have a Magical Day,
    Amy
