Hi Vicki!
I hope you had an absolutely fantastic vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort! It always makes me feel better about going home when I know it won't be too long before I can start organizing my next trip!
Although Christmastime is a super busy time of year like you said, it sure is gorgeous and I truly enjoy soaking in all of the Holiday Magic that's spread about the Parks. I especially like to tour the different Resorts so I can see the different ways they decorate. They each have their own unique decorations and it's one of my favorite off-the-beaten-path things to do.
You've picked a fantastic time for your next trip! My absolute favorite time to visit is in October! The crowds will definitely be more manageable during those last two weeks of October than they were for you at Chrismastime. I'm just tickled that you'll get to enjoy all of the Halloween decorations that will be out! Be sure not to miss all of the pumpkins in the windows on Main Street USA at the Magic Kingdom! The weather is pretty mild too. You may find that it's a bit humid still, but it's definitely pleasant.
My all-time favorite holiday event is
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is a separate, ticketed event where the Magic Kingdom will close at 7:00 p.m. for regular Park Guests and will stay open for the Party until midnight! You can dress up and Trick or Treat!! It's the most fun EVER! I recommend that you try to fit it in if you can!
Thank you so much for visiting us here on the Moms Panel and please come back and see us again if we can help you with any other questions you may have!
Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
