Greetings from the Sunshine State, Melissa! Welcome to planDisney!
If you ask me, owning a little piece of paradise here in Florida makes you a fellow Floridian, so - pleased to meet you, neighbor! And of course, one of the best parts of being a Floridian is being able to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with that sweet, sweet resident discount. Let's see if we can get you all set for your next magical visit!
The easiest way to
prove Florida residency is with a driver's license or other state-issued ID. In the absence of that, you need to look at ways to show your address. A current mortgage statement would do it, but since your house is paid off (Congratulations!!), we'll need to channel Princess Tiana and dig a little deeper.
Other methods to prove residency that Disney accepts are:
- Current homeowner's insurance policy or bill
- Current automobile registration, insurance policy or bill
- Current Utility bill (power / phone / cable / water)
- Mail from financial institutions, including checking, savings or investment account statements
- Mail from federal, state, county or city government agencies
(Statements and mail can be no more than 2 months old)
While the utilities are in your husband's name, my guess is that you might have a homeowner's policy or some government mail addressed to you since the actual property is in your name. Fingers crossed that this is the case, and you'll just need to bring one of those items along with you to buy your
Florida Resident Tickets!
Melissa, you'll be back in the sunshine and headed to Walt Disney World before you can say "bibbidi bobbidi boo"! Thanks for stopping by to see us, and I hope you have a magical
Disney holiday!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
