I have a home in Florida that I live at 5 months. Can I get a resident discount? If so what is needed?

    Hiya Patrick!

Thank you so much for sending us your question, and welcome to planDisney! As a Canadian resident, having a home in Florida for half of the year sounds like the most magical plan. What could be better than sunny days year-round and proximity to the parks for half of it? Especially this year, with the World's Most Magical Celebration in full swing, this is the best time to benefit from Disney special offers!

Now, let's talk about those magical Florida-resident special offers and what you will need to benefit from these deals. To prove that you are a Florida resident and benefit from these special offers, you may use a valid Florida driver's license, a valid Florida state-issued ID card with a Florida address, or a valid Florida-based military ID. If you do not have any of the above forms of ID, you may also provide proof of a current mortgage, bills or mail. To use mail as proof of residence, you may use mail from financial institutions or government agencies. However, it is important to note that bills and mail must be no more than two months old to be used as proof of Florida residence. If you have any of the above proofs, you may purchase a theme park ticket online with the Florida resident discount. To make your next visit that much more convenient, you can even upload and have your proof of residence verified online upon checkout. Complete the "Your Florida Resident Information” form online or the "Customize Your Tickets" step when purchasing tickets through the mobile app. Then, you will not have to stop by Guest Relations on your way to the theme parks to have your tickets activated, and you will be able to enter the parks by using a MagicBand or the Disney MagicMobile service.

Now, Patrick, if you would like to make multiple visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, especially during the World's Most Magical Celebration, I would highly recommend purchasing an Annual Pass. Although the sale of most Annual Passes is currently paused, you can still buy the Disney Pixie-Dust Pass as a Florida Resident. In addition, you truly never know when the Annual Passes will be sold again, so keep an eye on the Walt Disney World website for any further updates! Then, enjoy the magic of the 50th-anniversary by catching all the unique entertainment, merchandise and food only available for the celebration. I would highly recommend watching the Magic Kingdom Park's new nighttime show Disney Enchantment to celebrate the 50th anniversary as well as the purchase of your tickets as a Florida resident!

I hope this was helpful, Patrick, and that you and your loved ones will have the best day ever on your next Disney adventure. If you have any other questions about Florida resident offers or how to make your visits extra special, please feel free to reach out. We are always happy to help, and you're as welcome as can be!

    Have a magical day,
