I had a similar situation a few months ago where a hoodie I bought at the World of Disney was much bigger than I expected (I should have just tried it on!) Good news – new, unworn clothing with the original tags can
typically be returned within 30 days of purchase! If you have the receipt, even better.
You can send an email to merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com explaining the situation. Include a photo of your sweatshirt with the tag, as well as the receipt if you have it. It will likely take a few days for a Cast Member to get back to you. In my situation, they sent me a return label via email to ship the item back, at no charge. Then, I saw the charge reversal come through on my credit card about 10 days later.
That’s my understanding of the return process. As far as exchanging it for a different size, you can inquire about that in the email. I’m not sure if they need to process a return and then have you purchase a new one, but they can guide you through the process. I would go ahead and initiate this as soon as possible so you're within the 30 day window.
