Hey there, Carolina! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I live just an 8 hour, easy drive away from Walt Disney World so more often than not you'll find me taking my own car around the Walt Disney World Resort. It's easy to get to Disney's Hollywood Studios from wherever you are staying, you'll just put your destination in your GPS or map app and off you'll go. You are able to drive around the Walt Disney World Resort without actually staying at one of the resorts on property. When you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you'll be stopped at the parking attendant booths and will need to pay for parking. Standard theme park parking is $25.00 per day and preferred parking is $45.00-$50.00 depending on the time of year you'll be visiting. If you plan on park hopping that day, be sure to save your parking receipt. You'll be able to park at any of the other Walt Disney World Theme Parks free of charge that same day with your receipt since you've already paid at one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Once you are parked, you'll need to walk from your car to the entrance of the theme park. To help promote physical distancing, trams are not being provided at this time. But don't worry, the walk isn't very far especially compared to how much walking you'll be doing the rest of the day. Each parking lot section is given a name to help you remember where you've parked your car. The Cast Members helping with parking will shout out which lot you are parked in. I like to text the lot name to myself or someone else in my group so I don't forget.  Also, each row is given a number and you can find those at the end of each row painted on the ground. Be sure to look at the number as you are walking up to the park entrance to help you find your car after a long day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Parking lots at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks open about 45 minutes prior to the theme park's opening time. I actually like to arrive about 1 hour prior to the opening time because there can be a line on busier days. When I drive to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, I love to pack a little cooler of waters to have waiting for me when I return to the car. Oftentimes, the parking lot can be pretty warm and there isn't a lot of shade so it's nice to have a cold beverage waiting for me when I get to my car to help me cool off.

Carolina, I hope this helps you prepare for your day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  If I can help you with anything else before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
