Hi Eric:

If you are unable to find a reservation at Hollywood Stuios, dining at the Boardwalk area is an option. If you plan to return to Hollywood Stuios, I would take a boat, not walk. The walk is along a paved pathway along the water. While picturesque, safe and relaxing, it's a long walk, about a mile, and not shaded along many stretches. The walk would probably take about 20 minutes, depending on your pace. If you are going for speed, and aren't bringing your rollerblades, then boat should get you to Disney's Hollywood Studios from the Boardwalk in about half the time as walking.
