Greetings, Brittany! Welcome to planDisney, and welcome to the Sunshine State! How exciting that you're at Walt Disney World right now, as we speak! I hope you're having a truly magical time.
It sounds like you did a great job making all of your plans ahead of time, including checking for FastPass+ availability. That's exactly how your planDisney pals would do it! And yes, you're right that during the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, FastPass+ has been suspended for now. My family used it on every trip, so it's definitely something we miss! Here's hoping it comes back soon.
There could be a couple of reasons a Guest may be directed through the FastPass+ entrance of an attraction. For example,
people with disabilities that hamper them from waiting in long queues may use the Disability Access Service. When using it, the Guest and their party will be given a return time for an attraction they wish to ride that's about equal to the amount of time they would have spent in line. When they return to ride, a Cast Member may direct them to enter the FastPass+ queue to board. Also, if an attraction goes down, Guests who were onboard at the time or waiting in the queue may be given a special pass that allows them to board later without having to wait again, ensuring they get the full experience of the attraction that might have been interrupted before.
You're going to have a blast at
Disney's Hollywood Studios! While you're there, be sure to keep an eye out for the
Character Cavalcades. It's a great chance to wave at some of your favorite Disney pals. My favorite is seeing the one and only Edna Mode riding in the Pixar Pals Motorcade. She's absolutely fabulous, dahling!
I hope this answered your question, Brittany. Have a wonderful time, and please come see us again real soon!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
