Hello. We will be at the Hollywood Studios on Thursday, February 20th. The park opens at 9:00 AM. Will they let visitors in earlier? How early do we need to arrive to secure our Boarding Group?

    Hi, Lana!

I am so glad that you sent this question to us at Disney Parks Moms Panel: thank you!

For planning purposes, take a look at the Park Calendar for Disney's Hollywood Studios, then check back often. Currently, that park is scheduled to open at 8:00 a.m. on the day you'll be there. However, as you have seen already, park hours are subject to change, so keeping an eye on Park Open will be very useful when planning your days in Walt Disney World.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, an All-New Land is an incredibly popular addition to the park, so Guests have been arriving well before Park Open. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of two spectacular new additions to the Star Wars theme, and in order to ride it, you'll need to secure that Boarding Group as early as possible. The month the attraction opened, my family and I arrived at Disney's Hollywood Studios over an hour before Park Open. We were allowed to enter about 30 minutes prior to the official open, but at that point, Guests can't go any further than Hollywood Boulevard. At the exact minute the park officially opens, you'll be able to select the members of your party (who will need to be inside the park entrance) and select "Join Boarding Group" if any Boarding Groups remain for the day.

I've been monitoring the speed with which these Boarding Groups are distributed for the day, and have noticed that on some days they are gone within 20 minutes. Timing is everything, so be sure to check that Park Open post, as it may creep a bit earlier as you get closer to your arrival. May The Force be with you!

Send us more questions as you plan your out-of-this-world trip, Lana! We love to help!
