Hi Tania, and welcome back to plandisney. It is always great to see Guests return to us time and time again for their important planning questions. It means a lot that you trust us with the details of your trip.
May 4 is a unique day at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With the popularity of Star Wars and everything happening around
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, the park can absolutely reach capacity. It is not a guarantee, but it is common enough that if being inside Hollywood Studios on May the Fourth is a priority, I would not risk starting my morning at
Animal Kingdom.
Your best strategy is to prioritize Hollywood Studios from the start. If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, plan to arrive thirty to forty-five minutes before
Early Theme Park Entry begins. If you are staying elsewhere, I still suggest arriving with the Early Entry crowd. While you won’t be able to tap in early, being there at that time usually puts you near the front of the regular entry line. Arriving early gives you the strongest chance of getting through the gates before any potential capacity closures, and it also lets you knock out a couple of popular attractions before the crowd levels rise.
Pro tip. Once you are in and the park officially opens, place a mobile order for breakfast. You will have earned it after that early wake-up. I always head to
Woody’s Lunch Box. Their Lunch Box Tarts are a favorite of mine, especially the classic Raspberry, and a cup of coffee hits just right when you have been up before sunrise.
I hope this helps, Tania. May the Force, and the Fourth, be with you.
