Hollywood Studios at night! During our visit, the park closes at 8:30p! But Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, is listed to start at 8:30pm? Where is the best viewing spot? When should we get to said spot? What about Fantasmic, which will be showing at 8pm!

Fireworks galore and nighttime spectaculars that will wow you, Mary! That’s what you’re headed for. Both Fantasmic! And Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular are vivid, amazing shows and it’s hard to choose just one!

If you are a crazed Star Wars Fan, the lasers, fireworks and epic music of Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular can’t be beat. The projections are different from various angles, and it’s standing room only for the 14-minute show. You’ll want to stand either center front (the large palm trees can obscure a lot, so work around them) or nearer to the Hyperion side. The walkways will be defined by Cast Members, but it get very crowded at closing time, when the show starts. If you decide that Fantasmic! is for you, it’s an undertaking to attend, but worth it. Getting to the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre early is a must, but the arena has restrooms, multiple concession stands and eye candy to look at during the hour before the show starts. The seating area is HUGE, but bring a poncho in case you are in the “splash zone” (sit center or house left to avoid this). Your kids will adore Mickey’s imagination and when you see what comes around the river, rises on the stage and glows in the dark, your mouth will drop. There’s a reason it’s Disney’s longest running show!

Sadly, you can’t see both shows at once. Even if you leapt from your Fantasmic! seat, the Grauman’s Theatre area is so crowded, it's hard to gain access to the projection area, but you will be able to at least hear the music and see fireworks from afar. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will begin right as Fantasmic! Ends. The choice is yours, but either will be entertaining! ~ Lindsey P.
