Hi! I am going over the holidays and was wondering about the dining plan over two years aka 2012-2013. The 2012 regular dining plan has different restaurants than the 2013. Does 2012 rules apply to your whole vaca? Or does it depend what year your in?

    Natalie what a great question!

Many of the restaurants that are not currently on the 2013 Disney Dining Plan list will most likely appear by January. Restaurants that are owned by outside vendors have not worked out dining plan details for next year yet. When I spoke to Cast Members about the 2012-13 crossover issue the first response was typically 2012 guidelines would apply for the whole vacation. On specific issues, however, the answer was that after January 1, the rules for 2013 would apply. For example, in 2013 two credits will be needed for lunch at Le Cellier while only one credit is required for a midday meal in 2012. When I presented this scenario to a Cast Member the response was that most likely two credits would be needed for lunch in 2013 even if your stay began in 2012. The bottom line is possibly Disney will allow the 2012 dining plan to apply for your entire stay, but do not depend on it. If you want a one credit lunch at Le Cellier book your table for 2012 date.

Wishing you a magical new year at Walt Disney World with some delicious dining!
