I have a holiday booked for JULY 2022 from the UK staying at Coronado Springs. Will the airport transfer bus be running or do I have to book my own transfer to and from the airport. Sandra UK

Hello and Welcome to planDisney, Sandra. I'm excited that you have a vacation planned to the Most Magical Place on Earth for next year! You are going to have a wonderful time.

Sandra, Disney's Magical Express is discontinuing its service starting in January of next year. So you'll need to make your own travel arrangements to get from the airport to Disney's Coronado Springs. The easiest way to get there is going to be a ride-share service. I've used a ride-share many times to get to and from the airport and I find it very convenient. I actually will pick doing this over the free Magical Express because it's usually a lot faster and pretty affordable, in my opinion. If you don't like using a ride-share service, a taxi will also be able to take you straight to your resort for a similar cost. Another option that I've heard, and this is just a rumor at this point, is that Mears is going to be offering a shuttle to and from the airport. Mears is the company that already runs Disney's Magical Express. When you head over to the Mears website, you can see they do have information coming soon about this new service. This is something I would be keeping an eye on if I were you. Certainly, by July of next year, this program will be up and running. If none of these options interest you, you can also do a quick Google search to look for alternative options. When I looked around, I saw options to hire a limo, town car and SUV. Another option, if you are comfortable driving in the United States, would be to rent a car for the duration of your visit and drive yourself. Although, I know from driving in the United Kingdom myself, just how different it is so you may not want to do that on your vacation.

Sandra, I think I've broken down all of the options that are out there currently to get you to Walt Disney World next year. I do suppose between now and then something else might pop up. When it gets closer to your vacation next year, do pop back by planDisney and ask us if there has been any update about transportation. If you have any other questions, feel free to come back and ask me. I'm happy to help.

Have a great day and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
