Hi there, Melissa! Welcome back to planDisney. How excited your Brownie troop must be to visit The Happiest Place on Earth this summer! As a teacher, hearing my students talk about their Disney days is always so heartwarming. I’d love to share some of the must-dos and summer fun that are perfect for your group!
At this age, there’s still that magical love for Fantasyland, paired with a growing sense of adventure for thrill rides like Space Mountain or the Incredicoaster. With a group of 12–15, my teacher brain immediately thinks about breaking into smaller, manageable groups with an adult chaperoning each group. This helps with navigating the parks and lets the girls enjoy attractions that match their interests.
Some favorite attractions for this age group include Radiator Springs Racers, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and classics like “it’s a small world” and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. I’d also recommend carving out time for Toontown. It’s such a whimsical area where they can play, explore, and take a break from standing in lines.
As for summer fun, there’s so much to look forward to! Keep an
eye out for parades, nighttime spectaculars, and limited time entertainment that really bring the parks to life. If you visit before August 9, you’ll still be able to squeeze in time to celebrate Disneyland’s 70th Celebration and all that it has to offer! Another exciting summer highlight is Soarin’ Around the World transforming into
Soarin’ Across America First Flight for a limited time beginning July 2 in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. It’s a great attraction for a larger group to enjoy together.
Snack breaks are an essential part of the magic! Treat stops can double as a fun way to recharge. After taking a ride on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or splashing down the Bayou with Tianna on Tiana's Bayou Adventure, swing by
Pooh Corner for a treat break. Their display cases are always filled with delicious treats like Tigger Tails and Churro Toffee! And if your troop loves collectibles,
Storyland Boutique in Downtown Disney is a great place to browse blind boxes and fun souvenirs.
One of my biggest tips is to build in downtime throughout your day. Whether it’s watching a parade, grabbing a snack, or relaxing in a shaded area, those little breaks can make a big difference for a large group.
Melissa, thank you so much for visiting planDisney! I hope your Brownies have the most magical time making unforgettable memories together. If any other questions come up as you plan, planDisney always here to help!
