Hiya, staying at FW cabins, please can you let me know the best way to get to the Wilderness Lodge for an evening early dinner (2 children aged 5 and 8). Don't want to meet a hungry bear! Thank you :)

    Hi, Nicola!

LOVE your question!  Disney Mom Kay is a big fan of Fort Wilderness, and she is always on the search for scary bears at the Fort!  No sightings yet, but if you hear loud screams from the RV's, you will know Kay found one of those "hungry bears!"

Anyway, back to your question!  From Fort Wilderness, you can take a boat from the boat docks directly to Wilderness Lodge.  The boat ride is about 20 minutes.  You can also take a bus with about a 25 minute commute, but I think the boat is much more fun.

While I am confident you will not have any run-ins with any bears, I am very confident you will have a magical time at Fort Wilderness and Walt Disney World!  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
