Welcome BACK, Jennifer!
It's great to see you hEAR asking another terrific Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I like to say that
Dining at Disney is such a big deal now, that Walt Disney World Resort should also be known as an Eat Park, too! I actually have a few suggestions, most of which participate at
Disney Dining Plan Table-Service entitlements, so you can either have a backup plan or have a location in mind for
next year's Thanksgiving!
In my mind, the top Thanksgiving meal + all of the bonus points for ambiance is
Liberty Tree Tavern. Not only do they serve traditional turkey and savory side items all year long, the theme of this location, both the inside and out, is as though you're back in Colonial America celebrating the heritage of our country. Dinner service is family style, just like sharing a holiday meal back home. But something else I really enjoy here is that if your family is like mine where you have a more "selective" eater, the lunch menu has both regular per-person entree items as well the all-you-care-to-enjoy option, so if someone doesn't care for the items on the Traditional Platter, they could get a pot pie or fish and chips while everyone else feasted on Thanksgiving food.
A more playful option is
Garden Grill where you can find turkey and amazing stuffing, but you'll get to dine with your friends Chip 'n' Dale, Mickey and Pluto! Or, if you think you might miss your extended family back home, your server at
50's Prime Time Cafe will fill the void of your manners-driven Aunt who
will make sure that you keep your elbows off the table!
Lastly, my suggestion that truly celebrates having a good time as a family is also my all-time Disney World favorite
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. While the
menu is more barbecue than turkey, it is served all-you-care-to-enjoy family style, which is Thanksgiving-ish. But more so, the Pioneer Hall Players will have all ages in the room laughing with their skits and improve, as well as singing to U.S.A. folksy favorites like "She'll be Coming 'Round the Mountain" and "This Land is Your Land". I brought my parents a few yEARs ago and even my hard-to-impress dad pulled out his camera to record the fun.
I hope this gave you a bit of
food for thought, Jennifer, and if you have any more Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
