Hi there, Kristen! Thanks so much for sailing on over to planDisney--it's always so fun for us when someone makes a return visit. I'm so excited for you to experience your very first voyage on
Disney Cruise Line, and I'm happy to help with your question today.
I spoke with a helpful Cast Member at DCL to review the timeline for cancellations and the associated fees. These vary, depending on the length of your cruise--you can find all of the details on the Disney Cruise Line
terms and conditions page. Based on your arrival date, it looks like you are sailing on a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise out of Port Canaveral on the Disney Fantasy. For cruises of 6 or more nights (excluding Concierge Staterooms and Suites), here's the details for a Guest cancellation:
- 119-56 days before departure: deposit per Guest
- 55-30 days: 50% of fare per Guest
- 29-15 days: 75% of fare per Guest
- 14 days: 100% of fare per Guest
Kristen, I recommend canceling as soon as possible as that 55-day mark is fast approaching! The fare for your pal who will unfortunately miss the boat will be refunded and not applied as an onboard credit, although you can certainly budget accordingly and use those funds however you see fit! I promise you will find all sorts of must-have souvenirs and other excellent ways to spend that money.
Your sailing is a
Halloween on the High Seas cruise, which will make your maiden voyage even more special! Disney Cruise Line's holiday-themed sailings are full of all sorts of fun--be sure to pack a costume or two so you can get into the spooky spirit. You'll find plenty of Halloween treats and activities, and you can catch some favorite characters dressed up for the season for some great photo ops!
I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Kristen. Please don't hesitate to reach out again if our planDisney crew can help with any other questions to make sure your cruise is smooth sailing from start to finish!
Bon Voyage!
Susan
