Hiya, pals! When staying DVC as a member, I receive free parking at the resort and theme parks? If I upgrade to a close VIP parking spot at the theme parks what is the cost? And do I keep the close VIP parking when I hop to another park that day? Thank you

Hey there, Amy! Welcome back to planDisney and Welcome Home, neighbor! It's always great seeing you here with another excellent vacation planning question, but I am extra excited to chat with you today as a new Disney Vacation Club Member! Congratulations, my friend!

My favorite thing about being a Disney Vacation Club Member is being able to return to my family's happy place, The Most Magical Place on Earth, time and time again. But my second favorite thing is being able to take advantage of all of the Member benefits, perks, and discounts while enjoying our magical vacations. It's the extra pixie-dusted icing on the magical Membership cake! Since my family drives almost every time we visit Walt Disney World Resort, one of my favorite perks is the complimentary overnight self-parking at our DVC Resort, so, I'm thrilled to chat with you about this extra Membership magic!

I think you will be happy to hear that as a DVC Member, you will receive free standard overnight self-parking when staying in DVC accommodations, whether your stay was booked using your Vacation Points or cash; and as a Guest staying in a Disney Vacation Club Resort, standard theme park parking is also included! If you upgrade to Preferred parking at the theme parks, you will only have to pay the difference, and while prices are subject to change, right now, the price to upgrade is $20-25 plus tax per day, depending on the time of year and/or day. And more exciting news is coming your way, Amy! If you upgrade to Preferred parking, you will be purchasing a parking pass for the day for all four of the theme parks. So, if you park hop, you will be able to park closer to all of the parks' entrances for just one fee. Even the parking is pixie-dusted!

My family always finds it oh-so-easy and convenient to park at EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. However, since parking for Magic Kingdom Park requires first parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then taking either the monorail or ferryboat over to Magic Kingdom Park, I suggest taking advantage of the complimentary Disney transportation. Now, you're rope-drop-ready!

I hope this was helpful, Amy, and I hope you're having the best time planning your Welcome Home trip! I know you must already be feeling the magic from your most magical Membership. Please stop by any time with any planning or DVC questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
