Hiya, pals! Who has experience with the new Mickey Celebration cake add-on to a dining reservation? I see the great pics of the cake. Wondering if it remains a surprise until the end of the meal, how it's presented, and what to expect for the purchase.

    Hiya Amy!

    Welcome back to planDisney!

The Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes are such a magical way to have the "Best.Day.Ever" at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

I have yet to experience a Mickey Mouse Celebration cake, but I reached out to some of my panelists' pals about theirs to learn more about this festive way to chEAR another year. Walt Disney World Resort has made it so much easier to add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to your meal. It used to be that the only way to pre-order a cake was to either call a Cast Member or order at the podium in advance of the meal. That is no longer the case; when I was making dining reservations for my upcoming trip, I was given the option to pre-order a cake simultaneously as booking Kona Café. It was quick and easy! For the price of the cake, you can select the flavor (from two options) and engrave Mickey's chocolate ears with a special "Happy Birthday" or "Congratulations" message. I've also seen people bring in their own candles to add to their cakes to make it extra special.

Once you order the cake, how is it presented?! Traditionally Celebration cakes are brought out at the end of your meal, but it is up to the discretion of the Cast Member. If you want the cake to arrive at a specific moment, you can speak to the Cast Member at the restaurant podium about when would work best to maximize the surprise.

I know that you are most interested in Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes, but I would also love to throw in a recommendation for a handmade cake from Amorette's Patisserie at Disney Springs. If I'm ordering a cake for my significant other (a true chocoholic), I will go for the Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake. But if it is for me, he would probably have to order from Amorette's since Chocolate is not my absolute favorite. The Disney-inspired cakes at Amorette's are delicious and have more flavor options than the Mickey Mouse Celebration Cakes. The great thing about ordering from Amorette's is that you can take it back to your resort hotel to enjoy later. If you are interested in ordering from Amorette's, be sure to place your order at least 72 hours in advance.

Are you craving cake yet like I am?! Now that we are both sufficiently hungry, I hope I have answered all of your cake questions.

If you have any other questions, please reach out to planDisney, where we help you make your dreams come true!

    Happy Planning!
