Hiya, Emily!
It's always great to see you planning Disney at planDisney! Your Labor Day weekend visit to Walt Disney World Resort is fast approaching. I've visited the parks the past two Labor Day weekends and found them to be warm, busy, and full of magic! My friends and I kept cool by taking midday pool breaks at our Disney Resorts Collection hotel, enjoying indoor entertainment like
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue...and Beyond! at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and making at least one
advance reservation for dining each day.
You're smart to ask about Magic Kingdom Park hours during the special event season, Emily.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on select nights from August 11 to November 1, 2023. The party begins at 7:00 p.m., which is why Magic Kingdom Park closes at 6:00 p.m. on party nights.
Posted park hours are subject to change without notice, but personal experience and the current calendar tell me we shouldn't expect Magic Kingdom Park to open earlier on party days.
On days that Magic Kingdom Park opens at 9:00 a.m., Guests staying at Disney Resorts Collection hotels can take advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry and begin experiencing attractions at 8:30 a.m. The early birds get the coolest temperatures and shortest wait times for popular attractions, so I encourage you to arrive as early as your caffeine intake allows.
When planning your Magic Kingdom Park day itinerary, it's also important to note that
Happily Ever After does not take place on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. If fireworks are a priority on a Halloween party night and you have general admission tickets with the
Park Hopper Option, I recommend park hopping to Disney's Hollywood Studios for
Fantasmic! Another option is to catch
Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular at 10:15 p.m. from one of the monorail resorts (Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa).
I hope this information helps you strategize your Magic Kingdom Park day, Emily. Hope to see you at planDisney again soon!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
