Hi, Will be at Disney World 8/14/11 need strollers for my 5 and 4 year old. Can't decide between renting them at the park or using an outside service. What are Disney strollers like? How easy is it to bring colapsable strollers on park transportation?

    Hi Christina,

I always suggest that Guests bring their own strollers whenever possible.  It's one of my money saving tips.  The strollers are not very comfortable for the kids.

I would advise you to bring your own strollers to the parks.  If you don't want to travel with them you can actually purchase an umbrella stroller on Disney property.  I did a little stroller research a few weeks ago and there is a great umbrella stroller (black & red) for $53.20 (including tax) being sold on Disney property.  I saw it at The Swan Resort in a shop named Daisy's Garden.  I found out that it is also at Epcot, and at Downtown Disney at Once Upon a Story and The World of Disney Store.  It will save you a ton of money on stroller rentals at the parks, and will give you the convenience you need on the monorail and buses because it folds.

Strollers are available to rent in the parks.  You'll have a choice of single or double strollers.  Single strollers are approximately $15 per day; doubles are approximately $31 per day.  It will definitely accommodate a 5 year old child.

Personally, I've rented strollers and I have also bought my own.  I like bringing my own not only for the obvious reason of saving money, but the strollers at Disney don't recline.  My kids could never take a nap because they were uncomfortable.  That was a huge disadvantage to me.

I hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
