Hi!What hotels are in walking distance of the Boardwalk? We are booking a breakfast there and would like to explore:)Also, i know there are hotels on disney property that aren't disney hotels, confused:)

Hello there, Melissa! Welcome to planDisney!

As a lifelong Walt Disney World Resort vacationer, I have been fortunate to stay at various Disney Resorts Collection hotels. However, until recently, my family and I strayed from our current favorite, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, to one of the hotels along Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Beach Club Resort. So, I feel right at home answering this question for you!

The hotels that are within walking distance of Disney’s Boardwalk are:

    • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
    • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
    • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
    • Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
    • Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
    • Walt Disney World Swan Reserve Hotel.

You are correct that the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are not owned and operated by Disney (they are owned by Tishman Realty & Construction Corporation and MetLife but managed by Marriott International Inc.). Still, they are considered Disney Resorts Collection Deluxe hotels, giving Guests the same benefits as other Deluxe Resorts, such as Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, and the ability to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes at 7:00 AM the morning of your theme park visit. They also are serviced by some of Disney’s complimentary transportation options, such as FriendShip Boats.

If you plan on enjoying breakfast at one of the restaurants along Disney’s Boardwalk, I highly suggest renting a Surrey bike for a nice ride around the water to get your bearings. I’d also shop at Thimbles & Threads, Disney’s Character Carnival, and the Screen Door General Store. If you are traveling with children, spend some time in the Lafferty Place Arcade at the Beach Club, directly next to my all-time favorite dessert location, Beaches & Cream. Their milkshakes are social media-worthy and an excellent souvenir to bring home.

You can explore these resorts and hop on the Disney Skyliner just outside the back entrance of EPCOT to ride to other resorts, too! Your first stop would be Disney’s Riviera Resort, then Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and your last stop would have you at Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century Resorts. By the time you finish breakfast, walking, and shopping, I think you should treat yourself to a cocktail from the Banana Cabana at the poolside of the Caribbean Beach Resort. I’m partial to the Piña Colada or the Island Time Margarita, but my wife enjoys the Goombay Smash and Pineapple Mule. No matter what you choose, the Seafood Fritters and Grilled Wings are the perfect pairings to make you feel like you’re on a tropical island.

I hope this helps answer your question, Melissa. If you would like more specific recommendations, I would be happy to share more food and drink knowledge with you! Ask me a question, and I will help you plan the perfect resort day!
