Hi What is the average required height to go on kids rides? What park would be more suitable for an 8 year old boy?

    Hi Monica,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I have good news for you, and that is that there are many attractions at Walt Disney World with no height requirements! I think that this is one of the aspects of Walt Disney World that makes it a great place to visit with the whole family. For a list of height requirements for attractions at Walt Disney World, check out the link I provided. The list of height requirements for Magic Kingdom is in the post, and there are links to height requirement charts for Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

As to which parks are best for an 8-year-old boy, I tend to find that there is something for everyone at every Walt Disney World theme park! I suggest that you watch the Walt Disney World planning video, and have the 8-year-old boy watch as well. This will start to give you an idea of where his - and your! - preferences are. If he is a Star Wars fan, you might find that you want to spend some extra time at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where he can ride Star Tours - The Adventures Continue and visit Star Wars Launch Bay to see props from and interact with characters from the Star Wars movies. If he is interested in animals, a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom may be in order to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris and then explore seeing more animals on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Monica! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
