Hi, We're thinking of going to Disney world florida in the last 2 weeks of March 2024. Is this a very busy time for the park? I was hoping to go from the 18th to the 25th march and avoid the easter rush.... TIA, Karen

Hi, Karen!  Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

Spring is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort!  It's often still chilly and dreary in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during that time of year, so a getaway to the sunshine of Florida is very welcome.  With the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in full swing, spring is a wonderful time for a magical vacation!

While I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort in March, this does tend to be a busy time for the theme parks.  Many schools have spring break in March, making this an appealing time for families to travel.  In my experience, the week leading up to the Easter holiday tends to be quite busy.  As you suggested, you might avoid some of the crowds by traveling the week prior to that.

Walt Disney World Resort is a busy place year-round, so if a trip in March would work well for your schedule, I wouldn't let the crowds deter you.  There are lots of strategies you can use to make the most of your time, even when the parks are busy.  I would highly recommend staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel.  The convenient resort transportation options can get you to the parks quickly, and Disney Resorts Collection Guests have the benefit of early theme park entry.  You'd be surprised how much fun you can pack into that extra 30 minutes before the parks open to the general public!  Staying right in the middle of the magic also allows you to easily take an afternoon break back at your resort hotel when the midday crowds head to the parks.

If you're hoping to maximize the magic of your theme park day, especially when the parks are busy, I would also recommend purchasing the Disney Genie+ service.  Your purchase of the Disney Genie+ service will allow you to access the Lightning Lane entrances for select attractions.  Using the Disney Genie+ service to bypass the standby queue will save you lots of time.

No matter when you travel to Walt Disney World Resort, your visit is sure to be magical.  If you'd like more advice on how to handle a busy day at the theme parks or any other aspect of your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask.  My fellow panelists and I are all ears!

    See ya real soon!
