Hi, We're planning on staying 4 nights at Paradise Pier in April 2018 but I've read online you can no longer access the parks via the Californian. Is that true? And is it just temporary? (I'm hopeful it is!) Thanks all the way from Australia!

Hello, Sarah! Yay! I am so excited that you will be staying at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel this coming spring! This hotel is so much fun and I love having breakfast with Mickey and friends at Disney's PCH Grill which is right on the first floor.

Awhile back, Guests were able to cross the street from Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and cut through Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa to make their way to the parks. Unfortunately, this is no longer allowed. You will only be able to enter through the main hotel entrance if you have a dining reservation at a restaurant located in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. But, worry not! The stroll from your hotel to the Downtown Disney District and the theme parks is a breeze! You will want to exit out the back door of Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, take a right, and head toward the Disneyland Hotel. You will reach the entrance to the Downtown Disney District and go through security. From there, you will walk down the Downtown Disney District and you'll be at the gates in a matter of minutes.

Also, keep in mind that you are still welcome to explore Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa if you enter through the Downtown Disney District entrance which is located by Sephora. So feel free to bask in the glory of the grand lobby or pick up a quick bite to eat at White Water Snacks.

I'd love to help you continue to plan your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, so please stop by again with any other questions!
