It’s just about time to start planning for your
Very Merrytime cruise! Soon, you’ll be reserving those fun onboard activities, Port Adventures, and also transportation to and from the port if needed. I’d love to share more about the transportation process and other ways your husband can get around more easily during your cruise.
To get to
Port Everglades and on board the beautiful
Disney Dream using
Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation, you can reserve transportation from three hotels and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to the cruise port. The three hotels are:
- Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa
- Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina
- Omni Fort Lauderdale
You can reserve Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation either on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, under “Next Steps” and then “Ground Transportation,” or on the Disney Cruise Line website under “Ground Transportation”. If you used a travel agent to reserve your Disney cruise, they will need to make the Ground Transportation reservation for you.
You can make those Ground Transportation reservations as far in advance as you would like, including today. Personally, I always get super excited making my Ground Transportation reservations, because it feels like I’ve officially made the plans to get on board my Disney cruise ship!
There are also a variety of Mobility Services that can be requested for your husband. In your reservation, either on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or the Disney Cruise Line website, under “Special Services” and then “Mobility Services”, you can request a variety of Mobility Services for him, such as a complimentary wheelchair to embark and disembark the ship, wheelchair-accessible Ground Transportation services, and many others. Please note that if he needs a wheelchair or other mobility device during the cruise, you will have to bring one on board, as Disney Cruise Line only provides them for emergency use during the sailing, as well as during the embarkation and disembarkation process.
