Hi, We’re coming in May , but I’m unable to link my husband’s magic band to his name . He used it previously 2 yrs ago and mine is still linked . If I can’t re-link it, how does he get into Epcot ? Thanks, Teresa

Hi there, Teresa! Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so excited to see that you're here, and I'm ready to help you plan your best Disney vacation!

I absolutely adore MagicBands. They are fun, reliable, and they look good with any outfit! Honestly, they make me feel a little bit like a super spy, but maybe that's just me. What I do know, however, is that they are an incredibly convenient and must-have tool for any vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm so glad to see that you love them too!

Teresa, one of the great things about MagicBands is that they do not need to be relinked in order to be used during different Walt Disney World vacations. In fact, since MagicBands are nontransferable, they will work as the key to the magic for whoever activated them until their battery runs out. Some MagicBands are known to last around two to three years, but I have one from 2016 that still works perfectly! What I mean by this, Teresa, is that your husband will most likely be able to get into EPCOT (my favorite park!) with his old MagicBand.

In the very unlikely case that your husband's MagicBand doesn't work, he'll be able to get into the theme parks with the Disney MagicMobile service, which is also very easy to use. In order for you to use this service, you'll need to log into your Disney account through the My Disney Experience mobile app and click on the three lines at the bottom right corner of your screen. Now, click on the "Disney MagicMobile" box, follow the steps, and you're all set! This awesome service will turn your smartphone into a new kind of MagicBand!

I wish you and your husband all the best, Teresa. I'm sure your Disney vacation will be filled with joy, magic, and lots of enchanting surprises!

    Have a magical day,
