    Hi We'd like to arrive 9/27, but still take advantage of the free dining plan. Can I book a 5 day reservation from 9/30 and buy an 8 day ticket pkg? Then I will buy a 3 night hotel pkg at same hotel from 9/27 - 9/30 w/o a ticket pkg. Is this allowed?

    Hi John!

    Absolutely!

    You will want to have a package reservation for the first part of your trip and you can have as many theme park days as you would like on your ticket as long as it is no more than 10 days.  Then you need to have just a "room only" reservation for the second part of your trip.  You can stay at the same hotel or switch to a different one.  Disney will help you move your luggage from one to the other.  If you do decide to try out a different place, I recommend going up from a Disney Value Resort to a Disney Moderate Resort or a Disney Deluxe Resort, or from a Moderate to a Deluxe.  In my opinion, it is hard to go down from a Deluxe to a Moderate or a Value after being in a Deluxe for several nights.
