Hi, We are visiting Disneyland Paris in February. I have seen that It’s a small world is closing temporarily in January. It’s our daughter’s favourite ride, could you confirm if there is a planned reopening date? Many thanks

Hello there Charlotte, I'd like to wish you a worldly welcome to planDisney!

I must say that your daughter has great taste when it comes to iconic Disney rides! When "it's a small world" first made its debut as part of the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair, I bet that no one could have imagined that it would go on to end up in several theme parks around the world 60 years later! Part of its longevity and timeless appeal include the refurbishments and updates that we've seen over the years, with the introduction of new Audio-Animatronics representing beloved Disney characters in some iterations of the attraction, as well as figures representing those using mobility aids.

I did my best to reach out to the Cast Members at Disneyland Paris and do some research into the extent of any renovation or refurbishment work to be completed but at the current time, there aren't any details that can be shared with guests nor an expected date for reopening just yet. Your best bet is to keep a close eye on the official Park Hours calendar and filtering for Closed Attractions down at the bottom; there appear to be quite a few attractions that seem to be temporarily under refurbishment in January so let's hope that "it's a small world" will be available and ready for folks and families to set sail by the time of your visit! Until Cast Members are able to officially confirm, or any announcements are made on the Disney Parks Blog we're just resigned to keep checking online and the official Disneyland Paris mobile app in the meantime.

When I was young, this was also one of the attraction I absolutely loved riding on and even into my adult years it's fun to pick out new details and moments in every scene that I might've missed over the years. This year my husband and I recently completed a journey to all of the Disney Parks around the world and part of this involved seeing how each version of "it's a small world" was different - which might be something you and your daughter might be intrigued to experience one day! As I write to you today we remember the great Disney Legend Mary Blair, whose contributions and legacy are hallowed over at Walt Disney Imagineering and I highly recommend that you watch the special episode of Behind the Attraction on Disney+ that features her work that truly represents her style everywhere in this ride.

I hope that your family will be able to embark on “The Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed” this February!
