Hi, We will be using busses to access the early morning hours starting at 7 am next week from the yacht club. What time do the busses start and what time do you suggest getting a bus to get there for rope drop on these early mornings especially for MK?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jennifer!

I’m so excited to hear that your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is next week! A stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is on my bucket list – it’s got fantastic location between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the coastal, nautical theming is so relaxing and lovely. You’re going to have such an amazing time!

Walt Disney World Resort Bus Transportation from resort hotels to the theme parks usually begins approximately 45 minutes before each park’s opening time. On mornings with Extra Magic Hours, this means 45 minutes to an hour before the beginning of Extra Magic Hours. As you note, during the limited-time extra, Extra Magic Hours, Magic Kingdom Park is opening daily at 7:00 a.m. for Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, so buses will likely begin departing around 6:00 a.m. I recommend stopping by the front desk to ask a Cast Member for the bus departure times, as they will have the most accurate and up-to-date information.

I do recommend trying to be on the first bus wherever possible. I usually budget an hour door-to-door when using Disney buses. Arriving at Magic Kingdom Park about 45 minutes in advance of rope drop lets you get through security and to the tapstiles so you’re ready when Cast Members open the gates for the day. Magic Kingdom Park is often opened a little before official opening time, allowing you to enjoy your stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., a stop at the Main Street Bakery for your Starbucks fix, or to line up at the entrance of your chosen land.

Jennifer, did you know you can check bus departure times using your My Disney Experience mobile app? This is such a helpful enhancement, especially when I'm rushing around packing backpacks and making sure I have my to-go cup of coffee ready!

I’m an early bird at Walt Disney World, because I’m so excited to be there and so ready to let the magic begin. Plus, early mornings are cooler, and Florida truly has the most beautiful sunrises and morning skies. Early mornings also usually mean lighter crowds, and I love being able to ride our favorite attractions with lower waits during those first few hours of the day. I hope you enjoy the extra, Extra Magic Hours benefit and that you have so much fun next week!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
