Hi, We are traveling to DisneyWorld 12/28-1/3/2014. Are the firework shows at normal times for New Year's Eve? Also are there any hotel rooms that we can view the fireworks from? I could not find any special events for New Year's Eve. Are there any?

Hi Tanya! New Years Eve is a hopping place at Walt Disney World. The parks will celebrate the turning of the clocks to the next year with spectacular fireworks displays. The timing will be different from a normal evening show and will begin closer to the midnight hour.

If you have young children I suggest you celebrate either in the Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. Epcot tends to be a bit more "festive" adult crowd since it is easy to find a toasting beverage.

If you are lucky to snag a Magic Kingdom view hotel room in the Contemporary Resort that will offer great viewing of the Magic Kingdom show. There might also be something at the Polynesian but it is under refurbishment now so a little unpredictable. The Grand Floridian also has a few rooms with a great view.
There really are no rooms with views for the Epcot or Hollywood Studios shows where you can see anything more then a few fireworks in the sky.

The resorts themselves will be low key in respect to those guests who don't wish to wait up until midnight to welcome the new year in!
