Hi, We are thinking about going to Disney with our 1 y old son (Sept 2013). What are the best hotel(s) to choose within the parks given that we are traveling with a baby? Do you recommend CA or FL if we are traveling from Puebla? Thx!

Hi Kathleen!  September is our favourite time to visit Walt Disney World - the weather is usually awesome, and most kids are back in school so the theme parks are less crowded.  Flying from Puebla to Disneyland or Walt Disney World, I recommend a direct flight from Mexico City - so much easier with a little one having only 1 flight to deal with.  Volaris has great fares to either Los Angeles or Orlando, although to Orlando they only fly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.  Aeromexico also has direct flights to both, but tend to cost more.

While I love the charm of Disneyland, I have to say I  prefer Walt Disney World, just because it has so much more to offer.  If you're going for a week or so, I definitely recommend Walt Disney World.  Also, you can take advantage of the complimentary transportation from the airport to Walt Disney World, and throughout the Walt Disney World property - no need to rent a car.  As far as hotels, for convenience, especially if you need to return to the hotel for naps, I recommend one of the Resorts on the monorail route - Disney's Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Resort or Grand Floridian. These are Deluxe Resorts with great amenities and dining.

In the past, Disney has offered a "free dining promotion" for September, and although it has not yet been announced, I have a feeling we may hear something soon.  It's an awesome deal, and will give each of you one snack, one quick-service meal and one table-service meal per day, along with a refillable mug to be used at your resort for soft-drinks, coffee and tea.  It can be added to an existing reservation if it comes up. Mousesavers.com is a great website for current discounts and offers, and are usually one of the first to announce any kind of promotion.

Kathleen, I'm limited by space, but if you write me back with any other questions I would be happy to help you with more detail.
