Hi We are staying at the PO Riverside and my sister booked the French Quarter by mistake. They are unable to move. I've read that you can walk or get a boat between the 2 resorts? Can you tell me how long it would take to walk and boat ride?

    Hi Kate,

You all have chosen two great resorts that happen to be my favorite among the moderate category of resorts at Walt Disney World. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and French Quarter have a lovely southern charm about them that is both relaxing and fun!

There is a walking trail that connects the two resorts. Depending on your walking pace, it could take about 8-12 minutes between each of their main buildings. Keep in mind that this could vary depending on which buildings you will be staying in at each resort. For example, it could take a bit longer if you are staying at opposite ends of each resort. There is a boat launch at both resorts and this ride typically takes about 10 minutes.

I hope this helps in your dilemma and look on the bright side, you'll be able to compare and contrast your stays. One last tip or suggestion of mine is to definitely try the beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Food Court in the French Quarter. They are simply scrumptious.

    Have a great trip!
