Hiya Alison! Welcome to planDisney! It's great to have you stop by!
Getting around the Walt Disney World Resort is a big part of the fun on a Disney holiday!
Disney transportation comes in many different forms, with each one having its own particular charm. The Disney Skyliner has been a fun addition to your choices, as it now connects multiple parks and resorts. Boat transportation has always been my number one way to get around. From Disney's Old Key West Resort, you can take a leisurely boat ride over to Disney Springs for an evening out enjoying dining and shopping.
Traveling from resort to resort can be slightly more challenging since there is typically no direct route to get from one to the other. You'll need to get a bit more creative if you are trying to use Disney Transportation. Since you are staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort, your primary mode of transportation will be by bus. One option is to take a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios, then hop on the
Disney Skyliner to Disney's Riviera Resort for your reservation at Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. You'll need to transfer at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort stop to get to your final destination.
The only issue with this route is how early you need to be at the restaurant. Disney transportation will typically start running up to 60 minutes before the specific park opens. On July 29th, Hollywood Studios opens at 9 AM and Early Theme Park Entry starts at 8:30 AM. It is possible that this suggested route may not get you there in time. I would check with the front desk upon arrival to see what times the buses will be running.
This brings us to your best option (in my opinion), which is to take the
Minnie Van Service. This service just recently returned to the Walt Disney World Resort and allows Guests to schedule a pickup through the mobile app, Lyft, to pick you up directly from your resort and take you to Disney's Riviera Resort. The van or large SUV will be decorated in classic Minnie Mouse fashion and come equipped with car seats for your little ones. If you want to opt for a more budget-friendly option, you can also use any ride-share service to take you from one resort to the other.
Alison, you are only days away until you arrive onsite at the Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm excited you are eating at Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. It is one of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World!
See ya real soon!
